Welcome to the International Workshop on Designing Global Information Commons for Innovation in Frontier Sciences(WDGIC '07). WDGIC '07 will be organized by, and held at, the University of Tokyo, Kashiwa Campus, Japan, from November 8-10, 2007. Though this workshop we intend to identify the posibilities and challenges in designing and establishing information commons for science and to discuss how to utilize them for bringing forth innovation contributing to global sustainability.
